WHAT IS THE EAGLE?
5-axis cnc machine manufacturer

It’s a high-performance multipurpose vertical CNC machining center that contours, mills, drills, and trims composites, resins, plastics, light alloys, moulds, dies, models and sandwich materials. This machine is engineered for machining small to large size workpieces. It is the perfect solution for milling models, contouring plastics, composites and sandwich materials. The proven efficiency of this machine extends well beyond the prestigious aerospace and automotive industries as a trusted metal CNC machine manufacturer. The mobile gantry design, Metalquartz® structure, and integrated customizable technical solutions makes this machine an industry leader. It will take your metal fabrication shop to the next level, making it nothing less than efficient and highly productive.

Simply put, the Eagle is the Perfect Solution for CNC companies who utilize CNC equipment for machining operations.
Versatility

The Eagle comes in four different configurations to best fit the needs of your CNC machine shop. You can choose from the 1000/2T, 1500/2T, 2000/2T and the 2500/2T model. Every one of these configurations come equipped with an interpolated 5-axis spindle, regardless of size. These machines let you perform complex CNC machining jobs with maximum performance, efficiency and precision. There is also the flexibility of being able to set up CNC jobs for machining single pieces or shuttle batch operations. The improved visibility of the work area facilitates more flexible loading/unloading, tooling, and machining monitoring from a moving bridge and wide frontal doors.

A CNC machine operator has the freedom to mill, drill and trim various materials from complex to intensive operations thanks to the Eagle's interpolated 5-axis head. Without the continuous rotation of axes C and the improved machining capacity of axes A, milling undercuts would take much longer, and would be a very difficult feat to accomplish. The powerful hydraulic brakes guarantee maximum stability and positioning of the axis during intensive machining operations. From the wide choice of configurations comes a wide choice of customized performances. Depending upon which model best suits your CNC machining company, there are various solutions to satisfy your shops needs. There is an Eagle with one working area, one with two areas for pendular machining, and another with automatic loading and unloading of the workbench.
Tool Magazine

A simple and reliable tool magazine creates flexible options for which tools to keep near your Eagle during precision engineering operations. The wheel-type tool magazine can hold up to 30 tools with diameters of up to 5.5 in to 11.8 in in length. Completely isolated from the work area, this tool magazine ensures the greatest reliability by reducing tool changeover times. Upon request, the Eagle machining centers can be supplied with a rack-design tool magazine capable of holding up to 150 tools. It can also be equipped with an automatic chip coding system containing tool data and information.
Electrospindles

The Eagle's milling capabilities are expanded even further with the flexibility in your choice of electrospindles for CNC machining operations. The wide range of electrospindles vary depending on the type of material that you will be machining. These electrospindles will always be precise thanks to the Eagle's thermal stabilizing system. This system consists of a special software that has been designed to compensate natural thermal expansion and drift in the electrospindles when machining conditions vary in metal fabrication shops.

If machining rough composite materials and resins into precisely finished operations is your goal, the 25kW electrospindle with a 52Nm class S1 continuous torque and rotation speed of 16,000 rpm is the solution to meet the needs of your fabrication shop.

However, if machining light alloys and metals is your goal, the 37 kW electrospindle with a 64 Nm class S1 continuous torque and rotation speed of 28,000 rpm is the spindle your Eagle needs to be running.

Performance
Thanks to the dynamics of the Eagle, there is no job to big or too tough. The rigid gantry structure supports a symmetrically continuous interpolated 5-axis rotating head with a robust cast-iron fork structure that has second-to-none vibration dampening capabilities. The range of power and speed that the electrospindles boast is simply stunning. The Eagle’s improved production flexibility and maximum CNC precision machining allows it to handle whatever a CNC machinist throws at it, regardless of the operational conditions. With a superior head, the spindle quickly reaches speeds of up to 28,000 rpm.

The carriage and beam travel on properly dimensioned recirculating roller guideways to ensure accurate machining precision and stability. These assemblies consist of a precision rack and pinion system, whereas the ram is driven by a ball screw and preloaded ball nut assembly. The axis motion is powered by ultimate generation digital servodrives and brushless servomotors.

The tool cooling system uses a coolant liquid that flows inside and outside of the spindle at 60 l/min at an internal operational pressure of up to 40 bar, or can incorporated with a spray mist system, or by simply using compressed air. This cooling system will keep your CNC machine running more efficiently for longer periods of time.

Not to mention, when machining composite materials and resin, this machine can be fitted with an efficient and effective dust extraction system which is installed on the spindle nose. In addition, top-roof bellows can be fitted to the machining center creating a complete enclosure isolating the machine from the surrounding areas. The dust extraction and ceiling enclosure keeps the vital components of the machine protected.

Now, if you still don’t see why the Eagle needs to be in your metal fabrication shop, there’s only one thing left to do…

You NEED to plan a visit to BOOTH 339186 during the International Manufacturing Technology Show 2018 (IMTS) September 10 – 15 and see what this machine can mean for your business. No matter the size of your shop, one of the four Eagle configurations is the Perfect Solution for your machining needs.
