Flymill - The Range

The 5-axis Flymill range of machining centers offers four models - Flymill 1000, 1300, 1600, and 2000.  The main difference between the models is vertical and horizontal travel; 2,500 mm, 4,000 mm, and 3,500 mm.  The longitudinal travel spans from 2,000 mm to 8,000 mm, and over.

The amply dimensioned table, structural rigidity, and operational travel distances allow these machining centers to operate in a single area or in a shuttle configuration, linear axis speed is 40 m/min and can reach up to 60 m/min.

The twist heads with a continuous rotation of C-axis, A-axis rotation from -105° up to +120°, rotational speed up to 100 rpm, and 40 kW electro-spindle make this solution the perfect choice for high speed machining operations.  The high speed mahining operations of complex workpieces are possible because the machine operates along the 3 dimensions simultaneously.  Machine operations and programming are simple and user friendly.

Due to the possibility of the A-axis rotating 120° it is possible to machine complex undercuts without repositioning the workpiece.

A choice of high performing electro-spindles are available for the range of heads for the CNC Flymill machining centers.  They reach rotational speeds of up to 40,000 rpm and 137 Nm torque, continuous operation, offering high speed machining both for rough milling and finishing operations are ideal for composite materials, light alloys, thin steel, and superalloys.

All the electro-spindles are thermally stabilized and a software specifically designed compensates any thermal expansion and drift to ensure maximum machining precision in varying operational conditions.

Optional Accessories

The range of vertical CNC Flymill machining centers has been developed with a compact design for location in a limited space but offers a significant sized work area.  A wide choice of optional accessories are available for customizing production and machining operations across a broad range of applications in the aerospace and automotive industries, die manufacturing, and precison engineering.

- A dust extraction system fitted to the nose of the spindle.

- Automatic tool magazine which can hold up to 150 tools.

- Top folding closure to enclose the work area.

- Radio frequency workpiece probe.

- Laser tool setup.

These are just some of the Breton optional accessories to offer a customized solution to satisfy specific production and machining requirements.
